It is an easy walk as you will not feel the increase in the elevation until you reach the base camp and look down towards the Annapurna Base Camp. The height you will be at the base camp is incredibly fascinating bringing the view of the mountains parallel to your eyes.

The trekking goes around the southern coast of the Annapurna sanctuary and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas as the trail goes to higher altitude. The golden hour during sunrise seems mesmerizing up in the mountains as you look upon from the vantage of Upper View Point. You can certainly enjoy the view of the mountains right from the beginning of the trip. But the view from High Camp onwards is surreal. Once you reach the Mardi Himal Base Camp, you will find yourself standing amidst the incredible mountain surroundings. It is such a wonderful feeling to be standing between the spectacular mountains and feels magical as you relish the moment.
The Forest Camp
The Forest Camp is situated at an elevation of 2600 meters in the Annapurna region. It is one of the incredible stops along the journey to Mardi Himal Trek. As you start moving towards the Forest Camp from Kande, Pothana and Pritam Deurali you will see the villages decorated with dense forest of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendrons.
Undoubtedly, you will get the vibe of a wilderness explorer as soon as you reach the forest camp. The area around the forest camp is known as Kokar among the locals. The place has dotted lodges that are basic and homely for the overnight stays. During the night, you can hear the sound of crickets buzzing in the surrounding. You will fall asleep in the lap of nature with the birds and crickets chirping.
Low Camp and High Camp
As soon as you get out of the forest camp, you will cross the laden with lush alpine vegetation. The trail upon getting closer to the low camp winds up to rhododendron trees and fern bushes. The Low Camp is situated at 3,150 meters blessing you with the breathtaking sight of Mt. Machhapuchhre l.
The trail after Low camp is up to one meter below ground level due to wear and erosion. The loose rocks may make footing tricky around this area. Climb out of the heavily eroded section, and stay left to gain the ridge.
You will pass a single guest house at the mid camp and continue up the ridge until you reach high camp.
High Camp to Upper View point
High Camp (3,600 meters) is an hour or so away from the Low Camp. it is reached after following the ridge-top. The trail leaves the tree line and opens towards the west from where Annapurna South and the Hiunchuli are surmounted in the backdrop.
There are no accommodation facilities past High Cam. Thus, most people make a return day trip up to Mardi Himal Base Camp (MBC). As you reach High camp, the Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare appear close enough to touch. Enjoy the astounding view of the mountains and relish every moment. You will be having dinner and overnight at a basic tea house.
Upper View Point is the major highlight of this trek. Ascending and descending through steep and narrow trails, pastures and hiking along a narrow ridge, we reach the Upper Viewpoint. The view of Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Baraha Shikhar (Mt. Fang) (7647m), Tent Peak (5695m), Singhachuli (6501m), Machapuchhre (6993m), etc. are spectacular from the viewpoint.
