Pikey Peak treking is one of the famous trekking trails located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The peak is situated at an elevation of 4060 m, is considered as one of the best hilltops that flaunt the panoramic view of Mount Everest and more in the Ramechhap district of Nepal.

The journey to Peaky Peak starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Phalpu. From Phalpu you will drive to Patale on a vehicle. Patale is where your trekking begins from. You will be walking for about 6 hours daily. The way onward follows villages and forests of different seasonal vegetation like wild orchid, magnolia, and rhododendron.  

You can also choose to drive from Kathmandu but if you’re short on time, it’s best to fly both in and out of Phaplu. The drive to Phalpu is very scenic that takes around 7 hours.

Trekking in Nepal is opened throughout the year. As there are wide variations in landscapes and seasons, different times of the year favors different destination trekkings. But the best season is Spring and Autumn with a favorable climate, surroundings, and festivals going on around.

Pikey Peak as well is incredible during the spring that falls in the month from March-May. This time of the year brings blossoms of rhododendron flowers and green environment throughout the Trekking trails to Pikey Peak.

In the months of December-February, the trails and peak are covered with snow and the trails are also less crowded with a clear view. The tea houses serve traditional food in warm dining which adds more joy for Pikey Peak Trek during this season.

However, it is a wise decision to avoid this trek during the monsoon as this region can get very wet.

The trek requires you to walk for about 6 hours daily to complete it at the given time. The trail passes through the villages, suspension bridges, and forest of different vegetation like a wild orchid, magnolia, and rhododendron.

Peaky peak trek serves you with basic accommodation and fooding. You will be spending your overnights on a simple homestay or lodge with basic facilities available. The rooms are generally on a twin sharing basis with a normal bed pillow and blankets.

Places like Jhapre and Ghunsa requires accommodating in the normal local houses in order to stay safe from the environmental effects like rain, snow, and outer cold.

Carrying your own sleeping bags and personal gears can be very wise of you to avoid any kind of risks. This will allow you to enjoy the nature and untouched beauty of Pikey Hill Trek without any worries.

The peaky peak lies in a remote part of the region. Therefore, it is tough to receive Luxury and standard services for both rooms and flooding.

The tea houses along the trail serve the trekkers with basic and traditional local food items for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. The lunch and dinner generally include Dal Bhat with some seasonal, fresh vegetables and homemade pickles. This set of food gives you all the energy and stamina you require in order to complete the further trek.

Besides rice, the other items that are served are bread, potatoes, noodles, and normal soups. These items might not taste as delicious as the foods you eat in restaurants, but they fulfill all the body needs.

For drinks, you can find varieties of teas, normal fruit drinks, local bars and beers along with the trekking. But we suggest you not to consume any alcoholic drinks until you finish the trekking. You can also carry your one small amount of tidbits to add flavors.
