Everest region, also known as the Khumbu region, is the most desired and the most popular destination out of all the tourism destinations in Nepal. It is also one of the most visited trekking regions of Nepal. Situated on the northeastern Nepal on the Nepalese side of mountainous landscape, this region is the major Sherpa settlement of the Himalayas. It has an amazing mountainous landscape that ranges in elevation from 3,300 meters to 8,848 m summit of Mount Everest.
The main attractions in this region are Mount Everest, Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Sagarmatha National Park, Tengboche, KalaPatthar, Gokyo lakes, Glaciers, Peak climbing and the splendid views of the Mountain vistas along the mountain trials. Trekking in Nepal can be done throughout the year, but the best most ideal time to trek to Everest Region would be the Spring and the autumn. Everest Marathon is also held in this region every year on 29th May.
