If we leave for Kala Patthar early in the morning when it’s still dark, you will also get to witness a spectacular view of the sunrise from between the mountains. You also can have Everest Trek via Gokyo Lakes with our MFN Team.
Best Time To Trek Everest Base Camp
The best time for Everest trekking is Autumn (Sept to Nov) and spring (March to June). These two are the best seasons for the Everest trekking in Nepal.
The weather is perfect for mountaineering and you will get a spectacular view of the snow-capped mountains under the clear, deep blue sky. There are fewer chances of rainfall during these seasons. Spend some days hiking in the Himalayan villages and you will witness the traditional Tibetan cultures of the inhabitants of this region.
You will also get to explore the authentic lifestyle of the locals, Khumbu Icefall and wildlife in the Natural Park. You can also trek during December, that is the winter season. The trails are usually less crowded in December and you will have more options for accommodation.

Itinerary
Welcome to Nepal!
Elevation: 1345m/4412ft
Highlights: Thamel bazaar, restaurants and bar
Activities: This is your first day in Kathmandu. After your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our tour operator will receive you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel. There you will be briefly explained about the trekking that will start from tomorrow. Explore the city for the rest of the day and prepare for your trek.
Accommodation: Hotel Holy Himalaya or similar category
Elevation: 2840m/9318ft in Lukla and 2610m/8563ft in Phakding
Walking hours: 3.5 hrs
Difficulty: Easy. Flats and downhill, a well-developed path
Activities: Breakfast at the hotel and a private vehicle will receive and drop you off at the airport from where you’ll take a 45-minute flight to Lukla. Enjoy the dramatic scenes and breathtaking Himalayan view throughout your flight. After reaching Lukla, we will start our hiking towards Phakding. The way follows thick rhododendrons, magnolia trees, and pine forests. You can also visit a local monastery. Overnight at Phakding.

Difficulty: Moderate. Flats, downhill and uphill, a well-developed path
Activities: On our third day, we will have breakfast at the Lodge and then leave for Namche Bazaar which is the main trading center of Khumbu region and the gateway to Mt. Everest. Passing through the banks of Dudh Koshi river and beautiful pine forests, we will cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge. Overnight at Namche.

Difficulty: Moderate, flat and uphill
Activities: Breakfast at the lodge as usual and we will hike towards Everest viewpoint. This is the first day of acclimatization. So, adjust your body to the altitude. Take a day trip to Namche Bazaar climbing 300m to Khumjung village where you can see Hillary School, Sherpa museum, Buddhist monastery and back to Namche for sleep.

Difficulty: Moderate. Flat, downhill and uphill
Activities: On our fifth day, we will continue our trekking after having breakfast at the Lodge. Tengboche is our destination for today. We will pass through the stone staircases and reach Mongola pass from where the trial will begin. You will get to see a spectacular view of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Khumbila along the journey. Take pictures of the panoramic views of the mountains and capture your moments. After reaching Tengboche, you can visit the largest monastery in the Khumbu region and take blessings for your safety and success for the journey.

Difficulty: Moderate. Gentle river bank trail and rocky uphill.
Activities: Breakfast at lodge and morning preparation for today’s trek. The trail follows stone steps and riverbanks as the previous day. On your way, you will get to see the lifestyle of the local people in a small village. Trekking is a bit difficult compared to the previous day but the breathtaking views of the mountains will keep you motivated to move further. After reaching Dingboche, you will notice changes in the landscapes. Dingboche is the only place in a region where barley is grown.

Difficulty: Moderate. Gentle river bank trail and rocky uphill.
Activities: This is our second day of acclimatization. You will trek through steep and rocky trails to allow yourself to acclimatize. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Himalayas at every turn with colorful prayer Flags at the viewpoint and take pictures. Then we will return back to Dingboche and have our dinner at the lodge where we’ll be spending the night.

Difficulty: Hard. Uphill
Activities: We will continue our trek after having breakfast at the lodge. The trials are comparatively harder than the previous days. We will move uphill following Khumbu Glacier, Pumori, and surrounding mountains. Trekking starts getting difficult but the startling views of the mountains will motivate you to continue trekking and move further. Take rest after reaching Lobuche. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Difficulty: Hard/strenuous. Rocky uphill and flat
Activities: The most awaited day of the whole journey is here. Today we will trek to Everest Base Camp. Breakfast at the lodge as usual and we’ll set off. The trial to Gorakshep is rocky uphill with a jaw-dropping surrounding view of Khumbu icefall, magnificent view of Pumori and beautiful mountains. From Gorak Shep, the trail becomes rough as you’ll pass through large rock, up and down. A few hours hike and Congratulations! You have made it to the base of Mt. Everest at the height of 5364m. Celebrate your achievement and take a lot of pictures of the panoramic view of the Mount massif and of yourself as well.
Then we will return back to Gorakshep and spend the night there.

Difficulty: Hard/moderate. Uphill and Downhill
Activities: Today we will wake up early in the morning at about 4:00 am and leave for Kalapatthar, a viewpoint of sunrise. The sunrise from between the Mount massif looks amazingly spectacular. Make sure you take a lot of pictures and time-lapse videos of the sunrise. You will also see breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Cho-yu, Ama Dablam, Pumori etc from Kalapatthar. Afterward, we will return to our lodge to have our breakfast and descend to Pheriche for today’s destination.

Activities: Breakfast at the lodge as the usual and downward journey to Namche, a beautiful Colorful Sherpa village in the Everest region. Passing through the suspension bridges and small villages and hiking with gentle up and down hills, we will reach Namche Bazaar. You will see trekkers moving in the opposite direction and mountains you had seen on your ways to EBC like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Lhotse, etc. Celebrate your victory after reaching Namche Bazaar. Dinner and overnight at Namche.

Activities: Breakfast at the lodge and we will hike downwards to Phakding/Lukla. This is the last day of your trek and last night you’ll be spending on this Himalayan region. You’ll cross several suspension bridges and pass through the bank of Dudh Koshi river till you arrive Phakding. From Phakding, ascend to Lukla after taking some rest. Get freshen up at your lodge and explore Lukla village.

Activities: On our thirteenth day, we will have our breakfast at the lodge and take a 45 min flight to Kathmandu. You can enjoy the same Himalaya views and scenery from above. Take some rest after reaching your hotel in Kathmandu and in the evening we will serve you a traditional Nepali dinner as a farewell. The dinner will be followed by a cultural dance.

Food: Breakfast/ Farewell dinner
Have your breakfast at the hotel and our private vehicle will drop you off at the airport to catch your flight. Make sure you have not left anything.
