Gokyo lake Trek is perfect for those who like to explore the Everest region without any physical stress of reaching the Everest Base Camp or crossing high passes in the vicinity.  The map below provides you details regarding the trails of the Gokyo Lake Trek.

The trek starts by half an hour in mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. On reaching Lukla, our trek will begin spending the first night in Phakding. From Phakding we will continue our trek to Namche Bazaar which is the gateway of the Everest Base Camp. We will spend an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.

We will walk through Kyangjuma village and enjoy the splendid mountain views along the trail. The trail follows plant and animal vegetation. After reaching Mongola dada we will descend in steep bends trail to Phortse Thanga (3680m). From Phortse Thanga the trail is steep through rhododendron and juniper forests until we reach Dhole.

The following days trekking includes places like Machharmo, Gokyo, Gokyo Ri, etc. We will take a rest at the Gokyo valley and climb Gokyo Ri, our main destination of the journey. From there you will get an incredible panoramic view of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu.

You will also get to see the grand view of six lakes from Gokyo Ri. After exploring for a while, we will return back to our Lodge in Gokyo.

Once we’re done with exploring the Gokyo valley and lakes, we will descend to Lukla following the same tracks as while ascending to Gokyo Ri.  It is an easy downhill walk along the banks of the Dudh Koshi river. We will again pass through Dole, Namche Bazaar and reach Lukla. From Lukla, we will be taking a flight back to Kathmandu.
