Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world with a height of 8,188m above the sea level. Cho Oyu Expedition is one of the most popular trekking in the world. The Chooyu is situated in the 20kms west from the Everest.
Peak climbing of the Cho Oyu from Tibet side is regarded as one of the most straightforward to climb that has the highest rate of success than any other 800 meters mountain. The normal route for this expedition ascends the northwest face from the Tibetan side of the Nangpa La, the old trading route to Nepal.
SEE: Lobuche Peak Climbing
Despite the fact that Cho Oyu climbing is non-technical, it is necessary to have some mountaineering experience and training and must be to 6,000m before like Island peak, Mera peak, Chula peak, and Mardi Himal. Climbers must know to ascend and descend fixed lines independently and be proficient with crampons on the steep snowy mountain. For an increased chance of completion of the peak, climbing members should be in good physical condition.
With the challenge of high-altitude climbing shouldn’t be underestimated, the technical nature of the Cho Oyu peak climbing is moderate. The route to the peak of Cho Oyu is covered with snow slopes with a short section of ice and rock scrambling.
We will use some of the fixed ropes for speed and safety. The team of the Mount Face Nepal is so experienced that you won’t face any difficulties in the peak climbing time. We will climb this expedition in a classic Himalayan expedition style. You will get experienced Sherpa’s who assist you in load carrying and camp preparation.
The assistance if expert Sherpa greatly increases the chances of being a success. We will have to move up and down the mountain to fix the rope and establishing camps and acclimating to the extreme altitude.
Supplemental oxygen has to be carried with us as there won’t be sufficient oxygen in the mountain area. Along with oxygen climber have to be prepared with strong hygienic food with many calories. The lifestyle you are living within your place is not available during the this peak climbing. You have to be prepared for the worst condition of weather and climate change.
The typical Sherpa village on our way to the peak is awesome. The food available in the mountain region will change your taste and the food will be delicious. The forest with rhododendron, pine trees, and bamboo are awesome.
We can see the beautiful valley and the snow-covered mountain from this expedition. Everest is the main attraction of this trekking. Forest with hilly animals and the mountain desert in the region is just awesome.
The tentative days that can be taken for this trekking is 45-55 days. During this time you will be treated well by our guide, porter, and Sherpas. The itinerary for this peak climbing can’t be fixed before the trip begins. The extreme weather condition can change our trip itinerary, we may extend this trip as per the climate. And if you want to spend some time in the Himalayas of Nepal then we will extend the duration of the trip
In the end, we just wanted to say that if you are an adventure freak and want to be in the top of the Cho oyu then we have planned the best trip for you. Cho Oyu Peak climbing package is designed with appropriate cost with ultimate fun and adventure.
Notes: Costs are prone to change in itinerary. So costs will be recalculated if the trekking days get modified.
Breath taking Thorong la pass trekking - I was looking forward for the trip as this is my 2nd time trekking through Himalayan mountains range. It was such a great experience. Long beautiful trek. Our group led... read more by our guide Sumir, which I found him such an experience guy with lots of resources. There were few hiccups and he handled it very well. He was ready with his plan A,B, ...etc to make sure that we can continue on with our journey and well taken care off. We are all happy that we made it. I must thank Sumir and his team, Dharma, Suntos and the rest for making our adventure memorable. Hope we meet again in my next adventure in Nepal. Well done guys👍👍👍
Annapurna Circuit trekking and birding experience - I joined the Annapurna Circuit trek guided by guide Sumir and his team of porters. They were amazing , friendly and very helpful. The trek is challenging and the mountain... read more view awesome. I am grateful to my guide and his team of porters helping me spotting birds along the way for my photography. Great experience with the team and most important of all, I feel safe with them guiding me through the journey.
We’ve done many hikes around the world from Kilimanjaro , Patagonia. Choqouquiro route to Machu Picchu. This one by far was the most scenic and rewarding. It was not easy.... read more You had to be physically fit and mentally tough, but totally worth it. I would highly recommend the Himalayan adventure and trek company to manage your itinerary. They were fantastic!!
The Best experience of my life - Unforgetable experience! the landscapes of the trekking are amazing. The great guide, attentive at all times to any unforeseen event. Cheerful, with a lot of wisdom on the mountain. He... read more made us feel at home. We practiced yoga in the morning and in the afternoon, it was brutal! 100% recommended. I will repeat any trekking with the same guide because I am left wanting more.
Disappointed - I am posting this very late but I have just come across my previous communication with the company which reminded me that I had forgotten to review. I did so... read more much research before our trip, we travel a lot and understand the importance of choosing the right company to make the experience perfect but also to ensure that the company support the local community. Kisan and the company had such good reviews and we're also personally recommended by a friend that we chose them. Right up until the day before the trip Kisan said that he would be our guide, we looked forward to learning so much from him as such an experienced guide. At the last minute he was unable to take us and we were sent with another guide. The guide we were sent instead was very nice, he was pleasant and helpful but it quickly became clear that he lacked the confidence and experience to bring the trip alive for us. We saw other guides chatting with their clients and pointing out interesting things. Our guide spent most of the time just chatting in Nepali with the porter and playing music on their phones, he often ignored us for hours at a time. We tried to engage him in conversation, he would answer our questions but then go back to chatting with the porter. We felt that we missed out on learning about Nepali culture and nature. We wanted to hear about the locals who greeted us and find out the history behind the villages we were passing through,we know how a good guide makes a trip. We suspected that he was more used to being a second guide or a porter rather than the main guide. When we got back to Kathmandu this was confirmed by a quick check on TripAdvisor in which our guide was mentioned several times as a secondary guide or porter but never as the main guide. I challenged this with the company, I didn't expect anything and knew it wouldn't change anything but hoped they would perhaps just apologise and learn from my feedback. Messages went back and forth in which I was told he was a qualified guide, I asked several times how much experience he'd had but the question was avoided. This reaction was really disappointing, after a long exchange of messages I got some kind of apology but it was really too late and left a sour taste to be honest. I'm sure that with one of the more experienced guides we would have had a different experience, as most other customers have, but we can only go on our experience. These types of holidays are once in a lifetime and I'm afraid that we felt that ours was a bit of a missed opportunity to be blown away by the beauty and culture.
Nepal - Had the most awesome experience in Nepal with the team lead by Sumir & Dharma. They and the porters were very helpful and made our journey bearable esp with challenges... read more of the cold weather and thin air. They were very patient wt me as I was moving way too slow, but they were there all along encouraging all the way. Thank you!The sights were really beautiful and awesome and it would the main thing that will bring me back to Nepal again. I thoroughly recommend Sumir & team as your guide in Nepal!!
