Explore Kathmandu by Rickshaw Brief Insight

Explore Kathmandu by Rickshaw: There is no better way to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu than by rickshaw.  Hop on under the colorful canopy, sit back, and soak in your surroundings as you are whisked through the city’s cobblestone laneways.  An experienced English-speaking guide will take you on a cultural journey.
Expertly meandering through the back alleys, you will be told stories and given personal insights into life in Nepal.

Marvel at the beautiful palaces, old towns, alleys, temples, ancient bazaars and local lifestyle as the rickshaw is pedaled through the old, narrow streets of Kathmandu. Rickshaws are a trendy mode of convenient and easy transportation for anyone who yearns to explore the tricky gullies spread across the Kathmandu Durbar Square and its nearby areas. Kathmandu Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The rickshaws will pick you up in Thamel to begin your ride through Kathmandu. Thamel is a popular tourist spot where you can see numerous shops especially running for selling goods to the tourists. You can also do some accessories, herbal teas or Pashmina and Cashmere shopping in Thamel as per your wish.

While you explore Kathmandu on a rickshaw, you will also pass through Ason. It is the busiest market (bazaar) in the city and sells anything. Be it dried meats or a variety of spices, masalas, electronics, and textiles and various other offerings required while worshipping the Gods and Goddesses.

The bazaar is also famous as it is one of the two legendary India-Tibet trade routes that pass through Kathmandu. As you continue your journey, you will also be visiting the Hanumandhoka Museum located in the Durbar Square. It highlights the life of King Tribhuvan (1906-1955) who abolished the Rana regime from the autocratic ruling.

Get off your rickshaw and enjoy strolling through the Durbar Square area. Find yourself a spot on a bench to observe the bustling crowd and activities of the local people. Or you can also hang out in one of the hippie-era pie shops on Freak Street. Sip some warm chai tea, coffee or, even sample fiery local brew (rakshi)  at one of the local food stalls or nightspot at your own expense. There’s never a dull moment in this area.

If you are looking for a truly traditional Nepalese dinner, your rickshaw guide will gladly escort you to Kathmandu’s best kept culinary secrets, only known to the locals.
Kathmandu Tour on a rickshaw can be an unforgettable ride of your lifetime, on a ‘street helicopter’. You will get caught up in the energy of the tourist-friendly Thamel area. Breathe in the aromatic spices at the Asan market and watch as the world goes by in Durbar Square. Wander through the atmospheric temples that shines no less than diamonds with the diyo battis. Don’t miss the chance to be whisked through the laneways and backstreets of Kathmandu on a cycle rickshaw.
The Temples, shrines, spice markets, palaces, hot chai, even hotter street food, and a place called Freak Street are the tour snapshots. Join us on this Kathmandu tour and experience the wonderful and darn right weird sights of Kathmandu by night.
