Tibet Overland Tour is a  spectacular adventure that offers you a brilliant opportunity to view the unique panorama of Tibet. Mount Face Nepal welcomes you to join on this journey of a lifetime. Tibet Overland Tour is perfect for all types of people. You get to enjoy the marvelous scenery and views of giant snow-capped peaks of over 8,000 meters Mt. Everest, Cho-Oyu, Shsiapangma and range of adjoining peaks on this tour.

This driving journey first enters the enchanting forest lined with beautiful rhododendron, magnolia, birch and pines trees that overlooks the cascading waterfalls. Then entering from Nylam onwards world’s largest and highest plateau on the windswept terrain, you can see the sparse vegetation. You will also be visiting traditional villages and nomads camps with yak grazing pasture lands and receive the chances of viewing some wildlife during this Tibet Overland Tour.

The drive leads through high passes of Lalung-la 5,050 meters, Gyamtso-la 5,220 meters, Karo-la 5,060 meters and the last scenic pass of Khumbi-la at 4,800 meters. Passing through the beautiful villages, towns, and cities of Shigatse, you will be visiting the Tashiplumpo monastery seat of Panchen Lama. At Gyantse, you will visit the renown Khumbum Stupa. Along the picturesque turquoise Yamdrok Tsho lake, you will reach the beautiful city Lhasa.

Lhasa is a renowned place where Potala palace dominates all around the city. Despite being a modern city at the present date, Lhasa still retains its old-time glory in its eastern part. There are many Lodges and guest houses near the busy market of Barkhor the hub of Lhasa. You will also get the opportunity to visit the interesting and famous monasteries and places of interest while you’re in Lhasa.

From the temples and monasteries in and around Lhasa, you will also continue traveling through the high mountain passes. You will get an incredible opportunity to observe the traditional life in Gyantse. After you cross the Trans-Himalayan range to visit Everest Base Camp, you will see climbers who gather every year in order to conquer the highest peak of the world.

After a memorable and remarkable time in Tibet, you will take a super scenic flight on China Air which will bring you back to Kathmandu. The flight will reward you an opportunity to witness the views of the world’s highest mountain.  After spending a wonderful and unforgettable time in Tibet with The Mount Face Nepal team, you will head back to Kathmandu with a mind full of incredible memories you will cherish for your lifetime.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.

Day 02: Drive to Kodari and to Nylam 3, 600 via Zangmu – 06 hrs.

Day 03: Drive to Shegar or New Tingri 4, 350 m – 05 hrs.

Day 04: Drive to Shigatse 3,900 m – 05 hrs.

Day 05: Morning tour of Tashilumtso and drive to Gyantse 3,950 m.

Day 06: Drive to Lhasa 3,650 m – 05 hrs.

Day 07 - 08: In Lhasa sightseeing tour of famous monasteries and palace.

Day 09: Fly to Kathmandu an hour flight and transfer to hotel.
